Privacy Policy
In short
Nabbit does not collect, store, sell or send any personal data. Everything the extension does happens on your computer. There are no servers, accounts, analytics, tracking or ads.
What Nabbit reads, and why
When you open Nabbit on a page, it reads that page (its HTML, styles and the list of files your browser has loaded) to show you its images, video, audio, documents, logos, favicons, colors and fonts. This reading happens locally, only in the tab you choose, and the results are kept in memory while the side panel is open. Nothing is sent anywhere.
When you download, convert or export files, Nabbit fetches them directly from the website that hosts them, the same way your browser would, and saves them to your Downloads folder.
Data stored on your computer
- Your preferences: theme, language, view and filter settings, file name template.
- While a tab is open: the list of media files seen in network traffic, if you turned on the optional “Network traffic” feature. It is deleted when the browser closes.
This data is stored in your browser's extension storage and is never transmitted. Removing the extension deletes it.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
activeTab, scripting | Scan the tab you are on after you click the Nabbit icon or use its context menu. |
sidePanel | Show Nabbit next to the page. |
downloads | Save the files you choose. |
storage | Remember your preferences locally. |
contextMenus | Add Nabbit actions to the right-click menu. |
declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess | Add the page's address as the Referer header to Nabbit's own download requests, so servers with hotlink protection don't refuse them. |
| Access to sites (optional) | Asked only when you use a feature that needs it: file sizes, ZIP archives, format conversion and scanning after you switch tabs. |
webRequest (optional) | Asked only when you turn on “Network traffic”: list media files loaded by players and scripts. Requests are observed, never changed or blocked. |
Website and the Nabbit Pro waiting list
This section applies to the website usenabbit.com, not to the extension. If you join the Nabbit Pro waiting list, we store your e-mail address (and the language you chose) to tell you when Nabbit Pro launches. The list is kept in Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU), which processes it on our behalf. You confirm your address with a link (double opt-in), every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to hello@usenabbit.com. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). The extension never sends your e-mail address or any other data; the “Nabbit Pro: join the list” button only opens this website.
Third parties
Nabbit does not share data with anyone. Links in the Brand Kit (for example to Google Fonts) open only when you click them.
Children
Nabbit is not directed to children and does not knowingly process any information about them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. A future paid “Nabbit Pro” license check, if introduced, will be described here before it ships.
